ProValid funding awarded for sodium-ion layered oxide cathode validation

Dominik Stepien and Philipp Adelhelm have received ProValid funding to further develop and validate high-energy sodium-ion layered oxide cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries. The project is supported by IBB Business Team GmbH and the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises and will focus on scaling up the synthesis route. As a key next step, the cathode materials will be validated in pouch cells with the support of the Berlin Battery Lab (BBL) to assess their potential for future sodium-ion battery applications.
